There are lots of prizes up for grabs in the bit-tech reader survey - it's a way for us to show our appreciation for your continued support!
2007 was a year of growth for
bit-tech, and we don't intend to slow down during 2008.
We have already moved to
new and bigger offices and have enhanced our server infrastructure to support the ever increasing demand for our content. We are also in the final stages of expanding the editorial team to further increase content output.
Since our last reader survey in 2006,
bit-tech has changed – not only have we changed but you, our readers, have no doubt changed as well. We're eager to understand
how you've changed.
To that end, we have partnered up with MSI, Corsair and BFG Technologies to bring you some great prizes (totalling approximately £1,700), as a way of showing our appreciation for your support.
The prizes include an MSI GX600 gaming notebook worth nearly £900, a BFG Tech GeForce 9800 GTX OCX graphics card and a great selection of prizes from Corsair. These include HX1000W and TX750W power supplies, two 4GB DDR2 memory kits and two 32GB flash drives.
All you've got to do to be in with a chance of winning one (or more) of these prizes is to spend a few minutes of your time
completing the survey as accurately and honestly as you can. By doing this, you will allow us to better understand our readership and help to make
bit-tech.net a better experience.
We really care about what you think and we would like to make the site an even better place for you, with more of what you like and less of what you don't. Thanks for your support and please feel free to ask us any questions
in the forums.

wonder how many female you are going to get.....
How often do you visit bit-tech?
More than once a day - of course
Keep up the good work!
ageed, faster than TR
I had to answer that I don't read comp mags as Linux Format wasn't one of the options. Perhaps an "Other - Please specify" box is needed here?
Done :)
Sam
Yeah, doesn't seem as peppy as it used to.
I took the review, but conversions were annoying.. I use an Eee PC as my main computer, was interesting having to put in my resolution. :P
I have to be honest, I did the survey to help Bit-Tech. I would have done it without the chance of a prize.
Your details will not be sold, passed on, shared, eaten, used as an alternate fuel source or anything like that ;)
Nice to see that you're interested in what we have to say!
Bit-tech 4eva pls. =P
Hehe.
"Elsewhere" doesn't sound nice.
PS: I'll sue you for discrimination!.... J/K :) ... Anyway, I did the entire survey. Go BitTech! Everyday it gets better!
yes I am in the US and its slow... so annoying lol I come less to the site now ~_~ and ya for the people that say its faster I was about to say well thats probably because your closer now lol...
whats weird is I have been to other UK sites that are based server is in the UK and they load a lot faster then this does, the home page, articles and when posting threw the articles is slow, everything else seems to load alright.
...depends on the situation, if the PSU is capable of handling the new system or not. no need to trash a good psu. but I guess that question is in there for certain PSU brand sponsors, and for them a 3rd answer does not really help much with marketing. dang - I just owned myself :o
good survey - I have a few niggles - the how would you describe yourself needed an "all of the above" and gaming time for me is less the 4hrs a week sometime, but I guess thats just me...anyway, enjoy!
I just assumed that the currency listed (sorry, but I don't know if it's a pound or euro) was worth about 2 USD and since I didn't spend more than $100 on any components last year that section was pretty easy.
Anyway - completed ;)
PSUs - it depends if there are good enough. And evolutionary change doesn't need a new one usually (e.g. new graphcs card) but a whole new computer might.
Advertising - some are really silly, like the "Be an environmental overclocker" one. I can't remember who the advert is for, but it annoys me! There is also the advert for an 8400GS, claiming to give the graphics than you desire, or something similar. What!?!
Email - no real need really, I spend so long on B-T!
Just curious.
Wasn't sure what to put about how much i use different sections of the site since I never visit them, but read the articles from the forum.
Also, under how to improve Bit, i put "Beat Joe more often" :p
with *.bit-tech.net on your whitelist, right?
Why there are three red crosses above the email address at the really last page ?
i'd love to see some of the stats on the bit-tech followers, will any be published here?
The problem with that conversion is that products aren't priced the same in Europe as they are in the US. There seems to be a $1=1 pound pricing scheme so if I purchased the same parts I'd spend more of my income in the UK that here in the US. I ended up estimating how many pounds the items I buy would cost and then answered, hoping that gives Bit the answer they're looking for.
Also, a general comments box would have been nice, like other people said. Could just say something here, but it's not as anonymous as in the survey.
ROFL
and a "cream of the crop" section would be wickid too. Let's people see the best hardware at the moment.
Totally agreed here. Your advertisers need to realise that we're reading high quality up to the minute reviews on hardware. Trying to convince us that an 8400 is the dogs nutz just isn't going to cut it. in my case it makes me less inclined to buy from them because they're taking the piss and not respecting our intelligence
I would like the Video card (fingers crossed) but knowing my luck i whont get jack :'(
petty points aside, it's my birthday the day before the deadline, so make my day a treat and give me any of that gear! it'll all be used well i promise!
I think it'd be cool if there were a tab that took you to bit tech's highest ranked reviewed items, kinda like a permanant yearly round up but updated after each review knocks something off it's pedestal.
Yes? No?
Well, my birthday is the 30th of June, I have to defend my master thesis on the 24th, and I hopefully get my Master degree on the 26th ;)
Cheers again Bit-tech, The best Tech Forum on the planet. :)
Gratz to those that did win
Cheers, will do :)
Congrats to the winners ;)
Well done to all the winners, send us photos when it all arrives!
Nope, nothing yet. I wonder if im getting the wooden spoon from their old offices :)
