About us

bit-tech is the UK's leading online destination for tech enthusiasts, early adopters, modders and gamers. We cover computer hardware, modding and technology, as well as games - whether on PC, console or mobile.

The site was founded in 2000 by a small team of enthusiasts and in 2005, bit-tech became a fully professional online publication. The site grew quickly and established a reputation for impartial, opinionated and technically authoritative coverage of hardware and games.

At the end of 2008, bit-tech was acquired by Dennis Publishing, and the team moved to Dennis's offices in London, and began working closely with the team behind Custom PC magazine.

Custom PC is a magazine dedicated to high-performance hardware and PC customisation. It features in-depth technology coverage backed by quality testing and analysis, written in a witty way with fantastic photography and lots of Star Wars references. It was launched in Summer 2003, and has gone on to become the UK's number one magazine for PC enthusiasts.

In summer 2009, the Custom PC website and forums were moved over to bit-tech, and by the end of the year, the two editorial teams merged. The team now work across both print and web.
