RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and enables you to be kept up to date automatically with website content. Instead of manually visiting your favorite website to check for updates, you can receive notifications via an RSS feed reader running on your desktop. RSS feeds are nearly instant too, so you can be reading the latest content within minutes of it being published.
We offer a series of RSS feeds so that you can customize the updates that you get easily. Do you just want our News Headlines? No problem, just add our News Feed into your RSS Feed Reader! Do you want Modding and Gaming only? Just add those feeds!
All you need is an RSS Feed Reader, and then to enter the addresses of some Feeds. It's that simple.
There are plenty of programs out there on the internet, but we recommend the following:
Windows: Feedreader - Free, Open Source.
Windows Vista: Sidebar and IE7 both have RSS capabilities
Linux GTK/GNOME: Liferea
Mac OS X: Use Safari built in RSS capabilities.
Firefox Users: Firefox has built in capability for RSS known as 'live bookmarks'. You'll see a small orange graphic in the bottom right of your Firefox browser. Click the graphic and follow the instructions given.
Do you run a website? If so, you can use our feeds as content on your website. By publishing our headlines dynamically, you can provide your readers with links to our content as we publish it! MagpieRSS is a good starting point for those of you running a php enabled webserver.
Follow the bit-tech Twitter feed to stay up to date with the happenings on the site.
