A new patch for the PC version of id Software's recently released Rage moves to address a number of complaints about the lack of tweaking available within the game.

A number of new options have been added to the in-game menu, including the option to enable VSync, Anisotropic Filtering and adjust the size of the texture cache.

id Software has also commented on some of the errors which plagued the launch of Rage on PC last week, blaming the problems on errors with constantly changing drivers.

'Rage defaults to lower video settings to allow the game to work on a wide variety of hardware and software configurations,' id said of the pre-patch version of the game on Steam. 'Unfortunately, it is not possible to anticipate all possible graphics driver issues in combination with unique end user hardware and software configurations.'

To gauge how Rage may run on your system, id Software advises checking Rage's system requirements.

'The original release of Rage does not expose many video/graphics options for people to tweak because some of these settings, although desirable from a quality perspective, simply will not work on specific configurations either due to hardware limitations and/or driver bugs.'

The new patch also adds in a number of fixes for specific driver problems.
