Team 17 has announced a new Worms spin-off title, Worms Crazy Gold, for PC, PS3 and iOS.
Worms developer Team 17 has announced a new spin-off title in the Worms franchise, titled Worms Crazy Golf, for release 'soon'.
Keeping the 2D aesthetic of the classic Worms games, Worms Crazy Golf will abandon the murderous mayhem of previous entries in the series in favour of eighteen-hole action.
'
While probably not an obvious combination, Worms Crazy Golf is an irreverent mash-up of our own turn-based strategy game "Worms" and everyone's favourite turn-based game of hitting little balls with sticks,' said Team 17's John Dennis.
Worms Crazy Golf is set for release on PlayStation 3 and PC, where it will be distributed through the PlayStation Network and Steam. An iOS version is also planned for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad.
Addressing long-time fans of the series, Team 17 promises that Worms Crazy Gold will support full four-player multiplayer, along with all the other hallmarks of the Worms series.
Team 17 recently announced another new Worms game,
Worms: Ultimate Mayhem, which will re-explore the series in a 3D aspect.

Why not both? Bring out a new line of Worms where you have to pan for gold!
+1 to that... enough already!
Whilst avoiding exploding sheep? Excellent, where do I sign?
Edit: Could that be called a water hazzard?

I had an N95, which I had to use a few weeks ago cos my touchscreen phone broke, and on it, was Worms Crazy Golf. Nothing much to it, you just had to hit a grenade at the hole to blow up an enemy worm. Pretty boring once you'd figured it out.
Having said that, I am a fan of the Worms series, so I may see if I can try it before I buy ;)
