Despite confirming a November 2010 release date, Sony has been forced to delay GT5 again.
Sony has confirmed that, despite strongly confirming a November 2010 release date earlier this year
, Gran Turismo 5 will now be delayed again.
First announced in 2006, Gran Turismo 5 has been delayed and put back repeatedly by Sony, despite having been playable at shows like GamesCom and E3 for years.
Sony has confirmed that the delay will affect all territories and has pushed the date for Gran Turismo 5's release back from a firm November 3rd to a speculative 'Holiday season 2010'.
“We are sorry to say that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available on the previously announced release date of November 3rd, but the game will be released before Christmas,
” a spokesperson told MCV
“We sincerely apologise to GT fans for the delay, however creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating a racing experience of the highest quality. We are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches later this year. We'll have more information for you in the near future.
Sony released a preview of the game as a paid-for demo in 2008, Gran Turismo: Prologue
. Since then Gran Turismo 5 has only been seen at press events and tradeshows.
