EA hasn't properly announced Command & Conquer 4 yet, but we know it's on the way now thanks to a PR slip.
Electronic Arts may not have
meant to announce
Command & Conquer 4 just yet, but news that good can't be contained forever and the announcement has slipped out a little bit early thanks to the twitterings of a EA's UK PR team.
The announcement hit twitter for a little while yesterday, indicating that EA Los Angeles was working on
Command & Conquer 4 before linking to a press release which didn't exist.
As these things often are, the twitter was quickly covered up by Electronic Arts but by that point it was too late.
Joystiq snapped a picture of the twitter to prove that it did exist at one point and the news spread like wild fire.
The accidental announcement isn't the only news we've heard about
Command & Conquer 4 either, with a leaked survey from one of EA's research firms indicating that the game was in development back in last June. According to the survey the game will include 5v5 online multiplater, a complete co-op campaign, RPG-like player advancement and new mobile base units.
There's currently little other word on the game and we're not sure whether the cast of the last few games will reprise their roles, but we certainly hope we'll be seeing some more of
Gemma Atkinson if nothing else.
If you missed the last
C&C game then you can catch up on it with our review of
Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, or you can just let us know what your thoughts on the game are in
the forums.
So I went off to play a decent RTS game instead (Supreme Commander Forged Alliance.... vastly more complex, but rewarding nethertheless).
Oh.... and I hate how C&C games are zoomed in to like 2" from the ground with practically no zoom out.
So unless the above has changed... Im not buying, even if it does have the usual hotties !
Agreed.
While I enjoyed C&C3 quite a bit at the time, it's got no replay value whatsoever. Red Alert 3... I caved in and bought, despite the DRM (well, once EA released their deactivation program) I will NEVER do that EVER AGAIN. It was appalling.
EA, you can't make a game good by putting scantily clad women in it - it doesn't matter how pretty you make it, a steaming pile of crap is still a steaming pile of crap. EA killed one of my favourite series. :(
RA3, Generals are both pile of crap. it's a shame RA3 turned out to be so bad, i was really looking forward to it.
Generals was terrible, but apparently Zero Hour improved it. Red Alert 3... words fail me. I can't stand EA... for that one 'game'.
CNC3 was ok, but it had serious balance issues, and because of that there where a stupid number of patches needed, with 2 or 3 being 200meg+
But i still loved it for Mammoth tanks with rail guns!!!!
This could be good, just as long as its not got the same poor balance and game play of everything since generals :p
Hopefully they will release a beta!
Zero hours is what Generals should have been like. i remember watching gameplay videos way before its released and there are choosing your generals to gain special powers. for some reason, they dropped it in the game.

But I Found tiberium sun the hardest so far in all Series Specially with Firestorm
C&C 3 is After firestorm that people think Khaine was dead : khaine wrath was so Great Sequel making game pretty Sick
I can't wait C&C 4 to see the story : I played all C&C : general was just a spin-off not related by any mean to C&C universe
C&C universe is all readable on Wikipedia / findable on youtube / buyable trough C&C first Decade :)
In Khaine wrath we are leaved with a huge mystery in the end : waiting to know what the mystery is :)
And RA3 never really...errr worked? Huge lags even in sp :(

Do miss the challenges from Generals/Zero Hour (max brutal enemies, all maps etc)
Time to terminate the C&C franchise in my opinion. Try selling it to Bethesda so the can use AGAIN the oblivion engine with some lame excuse...
C&C:Renegade II anyone?
Oh god not another renegade....
I am hoping someone would have done a mod of Tiberian Sun using the CNC3 engine. I think that EA has let the life-span of CNC gone on a long enough without and major change in the story., Also what is with EA and aliens lately?
tsk tsk it is entirely possible :) and your clearly not trying hard enough

Guess i'm alone in that opinion. EA, yuck.
no you aren't. i'm having that same dilemma, with a few genres
DoW 2 messed up that series and C&C 4 has messed up my childhood fav game.
No where near the same. This pointless lets not let you build a base attitude sucks.
