EA signs Gemma Atkinson for Red Alert 3

Gemma Atkinson will be playing the role of Eva McKenna, an Allied communications officer in Red Alert 3.

EA has officially signed Gemma Atkinson of UK psuedo-soap Hollyoaks to act in the full-motion video sequences of Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3.

Somehow, we don't think this will be a Kane-destroying performance.

Gemma will be playing the role of Lt Eva McKenna, a communications officer for the Allies that EA describes as having a "sexy twinkle in her eye and a British stiff upper lip."

"I'm a gamer and the chance to act in one of the best loved videogames was an opportunity I was really keen to explore - especially as Eva is such a strong female character," said Gemma, demonstrating an amazing ability to speak without really saying anything.

"The worlds of gaming and film are getting ever closer and as an actress I wanted to explore this exciting new area of drama, broaden my acting skills and continue the active, outgoing side of my personality that I showed in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!"

Are we being too mean to the undeniably pretty blonde? We do have to admit that Hollyoaks is one of our guiltier pleasures on a Sunday morning, and as far as Command and Conquer FMV sequences go we doubt the game will require any real believability.

The game is set for an Autumn release on the Xbox 360 and PC, but while you wait you can read our hands-on preview with Red Alert 3 or check out the press picture below and let us know what you think in the forums.

Can't stand soaps, so never seen her act. What happened to the other Eva, though? She worked well. Hm... maybe EA feel they need a bottle-blonde Eva this time around (as both Eva and Tanya in RA2 were brunette, weren't they?)

Well, I'll reserve judgement until I get to see the game.

Lol, personally I think this'll add a welcome level of cheesiness to the whole procedings. This is RA afterall, not Rome: Total War.

Then we can have a R rated spin-off called Red Alert: In the City.

I've never, ever, seen a full episode of Hollyoaks. That said, what I have seen has been so piss-poor that I'm not holding out hope for her being any good.

That said, I was dubious about most of the actors in C&C3 and KW, but they turned out okay, so maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised again.

Im completely with baz on this, they should have stook with Jennifer morrison beautiful, sexy woman and adds abit of class to the proceedings. Gemma atkinson... English tart famous for dating rich footballers, cannot act to save her life and having massing fake tits. I mean look at that promo pic, when as the eva character ever shown cleavage? Its kinda like saying, "ok this game is probably gonna suck so we'll put a give with massive boobs in there and all the boys will love it" its offensive! Still... you'd love to motorboat her wouldnt ya :D

My only issue with her promo shots is that 'kin awful gun.

Sorry, but that REALLY ruins it for me. EA could damn well afford at least a plastic replica, rather than what looks like some cheap **** skinning of a 'green gun'.

Eva has been in C&C since the very begining, how ever, it was never really part of the fmv's, well, when i say that, it was only a voice over, as Eva at the time stands for Electronic Video Agent. Tiberium Sun also had Eva, but again was just a voice over until RA2 when Eva was a live person, not just a voice over. Eva has since been used as Voice overs in C&C Renegade and Generals for the USA.
RA2 Eva was played by Athena Massey along side Kari Wuhrer who where both brunette.

I figured that, for the most part, a part in Hollyoaks would effectively kill your acting career...

Having said that, a part in Red Alert is hardly anything particularly big..

Yes! Gemma is hot. Who cares if she can act. That's the whole point of the FMVs, bad, cheesy acting. In the words of Dave Chepelle, "Gemma has some big ass tittays" lol.
