BioShock 2 unveiled?

BioShock 2: The Sea Of Dreams currently exists as nothing more than a 15-second teaser trailer.

The PlayStation 3 version of BioShock may be late in getting to market, but it looks to be worth something after all thanks to a new teaser for the sequel.

The PS3 version of BioShock has been released almost a year after the game first appeared on the PC and Xbox 360 - and check out our monstrously in-depth BioShock review for more about that - but has repayed PS3 by treating them to a 15-second teaser for..THE SEQUEL!

There really isn't much to go on plot-wise from the teaser other than it'll be set after the original game judging by the fact that the Little Sister seems to have aged to a point deemed more appropriate by some of the more explicit fan fiction.

Um, it also looks to be subtitled as "The Sea of Dreams" too.

The teaser is only fifteen seconds long, but the only footage available at the moment is in the form of a shaky-cam. Check it out below, then let us know what you think in the forums. There's currently some lengthy debate raging on in the office about whether the game even needs a sequel, especially since Ken Levine has moved on to projects new.

Sea of dreams? Why didn't they just name it 'Bioshock 2: Pony Adventures".
Quote UrbanMarine 16th October 2008, 16:04
Hell yeah, I hope it's as good as the first one.

Less Bioshock, more System Shock 2 in UT3 engine WITHOUT THE CONSOLIFICATION KTHX.

Looking forward to this already my fav game of last year by a country mile.

I thought they might of done a prequel but hey who am I to decide so long as they get the story and back story right like they did for the last one.

When will the U3 engine just die.................? Warfare Engine or Source me please.
Quote Lepermessiah 16th October 2008, 18:33
Lets hope it is better then the vastly overhpyed consolized first one. What a bunch of crock the reviews for that game were. Yes, ue3 is a terrible engine, no wonder EPIC likes consoles so much, they can sell the crap out of that engine for 4-5 years as it is the best consoles can do.

Holy ****, listen to all the flames that follow.

I think BioShock had an amazing story for a video game.

Game play was fun, wasn't breakthrough, but it's the story which kept me playing.

I'm looking forward to BioShock 2

Dont get me wrong the story was good (even if we had already seen it back in SS2) but i couldn't help but feel raged by the way its game play insulted my level of intelligence, pretty much like most console games these days.

Developer themselves siad they had to dumb down the game to appeal to everyone, console masses mainly.

Played for two hours, middle of the day, literally fell asleep.

Biosuck was horribly boring for me (Don't tell me I'm wrong, unless you feel like eating a bag of sod off), and was about as entertaining as drying paint. A second one for a story so pathetic is entirely un-needed.

Also, why does this stink of fake?
Quote Hg 17th October 2008, 09:23
i agree with gunsmith, the game had some nice elements and i will play the sequel, but it didnt live up to all the hype and gamplay elements and even hacking were a piss take.
Quote Da_Rude_Baboon 17th October 2008, 11:20
Bioshock really was a big stinking pile of poo and one of the rare examples of story over gameplay. Hopefully if Levine has left they might concentrate on making it fun to play and not an exercise in repitition. I cant take any of Joe's reviews seriously after he gave that game a 10 score, his love affair with the developer complelty over ruled his objectivity.
Quote [USRF]Obiwan 17th October 2008, 12:33
Overall I liked Bioshock except for the endlessly boring mini pipe game! In fact without the pipe game Bioshock would have lasted 2 hours instead of 5 evenings play time. And then the stuff from the machines. things you really really wanted but just don't need at all.

In the end it was just a unreal 3 shooter in 'snail' mode.

Ken Levine leaving is probably going to absolutely cripple this game. I'm wondering if there's going to be any kind of serious story this time around.

Here's hoping.

*raises hand*

I just loved the environments and the overall mood of the game, but the actual gameplay felt really awkward and got very boring. It's one of the very few games I have started, but never finished.
