Ubisoft won't comment on Jade Raymond rumours

News on Jade Raymond's latest project has been scant since the release of Assassin's Creed.

Ubisoft has declined to comment in any way on what is rumoured to be the latest project of the Assassin's Creed designer Jade Raymond, I Am Alive.

News on what exactly the popular Jade has been up to has been scant and, while many have assumed that the controversial producer has been working on the next game in the Assassin's Creed trilogy, rumours suggest that she may have a new project planned.

Although the project is still unconfirmed by Ubisoft, who also have refused to deny the game according to Eurogamer, gaming site GameKyo has heard the Jade is involved in the game and that is is planned for a Spring 2009 release.

The game, which has apparently been in production for three years at the Parisian Darkworks studios, is planned as an Xbox 360, PS3 and PC first-person adventure set in Chicago after a massive earthquake. Players take the role of a survivor who is looking to escape the aftermath of the catastrophe.

Although the game is set in the first-person perspective, initial reports say that there'll be little to no violence in the game and instead the action will focus on navigation of the environment, much like DICE's Mirrors Edge.

Sound interesting to you, or were you bored of Jade and the whole free-running thing back when Altair was having a go? Let us know your thoughts in the forums.

Wake up guys, she doesnt code anything IIRC. She is only the producer/director. And too bad her first game was so freaking repetitive that I never played all the way through. At times I think people only liked ass creed because of her producing it........and the same will probably hold true for this next game.

I hope this one is better that Assassin's Creed. The last few levels were excruciatingly painful. The combat system was NOT designed to fight 30 people at a time. I like being able to run around the levels and do silent kills. But when the last few levels are nothing but fighting hordes of enemies it gets really frustrating. And just when you thought there wasn't another fight and that the end was near, they brought in 20 more guys you had to fight. The end ruined the game.

You guys posted this story just so you'd have an excuse to put her picture up on the website, didn't you?

My excuse would be that she's hot...

I'm going to have to add in a comment from Kotaku which sums up my feelings about some of the comments in this thread:

Please, for the love of intelligent conversation everywhere, shut the **** up.
It's embarassing to me that I even have to point this out, and it should be even more embarassing that it has to be pointed out to you, but your comments add nothing to the discussion, are sexist, and ignorant. It's wading through trash like this that prevents me from frequenting most sites, and Kotaku is one of the few that keeps goons like off of it's channel. Unfortunately, someone forget to lock your cages this morning, or something.
This article is about Jade Raymond the game developer. She is a woman, and some people think she is attractive. And that's all anyone should say about that. Frankly, I'm sick and tired of having to read **** like this when I want to actually be informed of something, or parse through someone's comments or opinions, be they insightful or witty.
I understand the conversational nature of this blog, I realize that many stories are posted with "suggestive" material, and I recognize an attempt at humor and playfulness. But this **** is crossing the line. What line? The one of grace, class, and decency.
Perhaps some of you haven't reached the real world yet, and realize that you must treat others with respect, but when you do I imagine you'll change your tune to something akin to mine...either that or remain forever compared to a 12-year old.
Every time we have a story even remotely suggestive we get the morons crawling out of the woodwork...be it racism, sexism, ignorance, antipathy, relgious persecution, anti-country propaganda (pick your nation, they all get hate equally), xenophobia or just plain indecency.
Think about what you write before you write it. Think long and hard. And for the love of god, if you're wrong and you know it, don't try to justify your position under some ignorant title like "everyone else is doing it!" or "freedom of speech!" or "this isn't even the worst thing that has happened on this blog!" or whatever else you may dredge out of the black hole you call a mind.
There is no call for this behavior in any social setting. Anyone calling themselves educated should know to avoid this kind of junk, and certainly how to deal with it. Usually the best way is to ignore it and let the trolls deal with themselves, but I've had enough of it. Why? Because this pollution you call comments is messing up my favorite site. I didn't come here to read what you think about Jade Raymond and why you want to date her. I came here for some humor and information and gossip about video games. If you want to talk ****, go to 4chan or gamefaqs.
I'm spologize to everyone that's been acting normal through this; you shouldn't be subjected to this comment as much as you shouldn't have to read thiers'. But something needs said, and something needs done.
I'll get off my soapbox now. Keep it clean and keep it civil, please, or don't bother.

Cogito is a cock.

It's not sexist or disrespectful to say that she is an attractive woman. It WOULD be disrespectful to say that that's all she's good for, but that's not true. She is an intelligent woman who's making some good games (I actually really liked Assassin's Creed, and I didn't even know she made it).

Our friend Cogito needs to revise his/her definitions of sexism and compliment, stop being such a dick who is clearly just saying this just out of contempt for conformity. Stop being such a dick and ignore the comments if you don't like them.

It's not even as though there's much to discuss in this article, it's completely arbitrary.

I will not grow up. I'm sick of people who take a moral high ground based upon maturity. If you're so mature, don't offend EVERYONE who just posted in this thread by posting a quote positing that they are all immature little kids with the emotional capacity of a doorbell. Stop being such a "morally superior" dick and provoking verbal abuse at you which you are only going to use to incorporate into your argument that our behaviour is "unacceptable", and thus turn it back at us (ie, me). Would you rather I went out and murdered someone? Or raped Jade Raymond? No, I don't think you would, would you... You arsehole.

A "proper" picture of her.

And about talking about her, people respond in such a way because games and game developing are normally to do with "geeks" and "Ugly people", and when a over average woman comes into the scene, it's like wow, were did she come from?

And mature people don't play games, period. ;)

I agree with previous posters, someone just needed to put her picture up.

She's pretty, and I have to say she has quite an impressive resume. Clearly she got where she is more than just on looks.

Although there's no denying her looks play a big role in her current POPULARITY(not her job or anything). Come on, who cares much about the producers of other games anyway, unless you're talking about Konami or Nintendo or PC developers. At least not enough to 'fabricate' stories to put up her picture. :D

I have to disagree a bit with Major though. It's just another form of entertainment. Just because you are entertaining yourself with it doesn't mean you are immature.

And lastly on I Am Alive, why no consideration for the Wii? I do believe it would make a good Wii game.

It's funny how many people assume that though. I've seen many people posting who are obviously fed up with her being in gaming news all the time about how she only got her position on looks and she's just a producer so she doesn't actually have anything to do with making the game and she's still bad at doing that. I'm not sure where people are getting this from.

QFT.

First time I've seen her or heard anything about her, I appreciate the witticisms and jokes. I personally wouldn't implicate she had her job just because she was hot. I would suggest she gets a lot more press because she is breaking of the stereotype, but thats my opinion.

Thats a load of bollocks proteus. People dont buy games just because of how the producer of the game looks like. Hell, I bought the game and I had no idea what she looked like before I bought the game. People buy games because of how good the game is. There are other factors like Price / Retail Cover Design / Advertising / Demo Play / Recommendations / Reviews and not what the producer looks like

If that was the case, most people would not buy most games that are out.. lol
Quote bahgger 14th July 2008, 04:49
BT should add a question in its survey:

"Would you buy a game if the development team was a bunch of models?"

I'm certain that there is no correlation with a pretty developer and my decision to buy the game said developer had worked on. That's just stupid.
