BioShock 360 broken by update?

BioShock on the 360 has been a bit damaged by a new update, though a fix should be coming soon.

So, everyone here has had a chance to play at least a little bit of BioShock now, right?

Good, because anybody who hasn't will be hunted down and mercilessly mocked for the utter n00b they are. Then we'll get all those n00bs together and will physically force them to play the game.

Of course, we'll have to get them all to play the PC version of the game because it turns out that the Xbox 360 version has been broken just a little bit by a new update on Xbox Live.

The new update apparently tries to fix an issue with autosaving, as well as a handful of AI problems. What it actually does though is cause the game to crash an awful lot.

Kotaku has apparently been receiving "tons" of emails from readers who have complained about the recent update and 2K Games has pledged to fix the problem as soon as possible. Until then the only way to get around it is to clear the 360's cache by holding both bumper buttons as the game boots up. Don't let go of the bumpers until you see the 2K logo, at which point it should all be cool and the gang.

The update has been a bit of a dissappointment for some, who had hoped that it would contain some new content or plasmids. Rumours of new plasmids and powers started after some curious coders poked around in BioShock's files and found some hints about new downloadable content. Supposedly the new content would include four plasmids - called Machine Buster, Vending Expert, Sonic Boom and EVE Saver.

Have you been having any problems with the Xbox 360 version of the game, or are you smugly playing the PC version still? Let us know in the forums.

I think you'll have to force me to play then... Anyhow I don't really have a decent b0x for Bioshock and the only xbox360 related thing I have is the gamepad which is uber cool.

Are the plasmids upgrades only for x360 users?

back then when consoles had no harddisks and no connection to the internet developers where forced to release working games due to patching being impossible... but that advantage is now obviously gone, now xbox360 owners can even enjoy the fun of broken patches

*hugs the pc*

Let's see, what have I got here to play Bioshock on...

A PII-500 with ATI Rage Pro 3D graphics... Nope.
An Athlon XP 1400+ with GeForce 4 MX... Nope.
An Athlon 64 3000+ with (Broken) GeForce Go 5700... Nope.
A Classic XBox... Nope.

Looks like I'm not playing BioShock, then. Unless, of course, someone is willing to donate a kick-@ss rig/X360 to me.

No-one? Ho hum.

That's as maybe, but what's more likely? Someone sending me a $300 game console or a $3,000 computer system?

While I'd love to have the kick-@ss rig, we gotta be realistic here.

you can get a pretty decent PC for sub $1000

u dont need a 88000GTX, watercooling, quad core extreme editions
Stuff like that is only for people with far too much money :p

Check around for some good deals on the web, or ebay, and you could probably get a very respectable PC for like $600

Not quite (All prices/descriptions from TigerDirect.ca)

And with only an 8500 in there, don't expect much in the way of eye-candy from BioShock.

Why would anyone get an 8500 for a $1000 gaming system? For the crappy practically useless DX10 maybe? Obviously they'd get something along the lines of an X1950 Pro and be 10x happier.

Also anakha, that sysem you got there is far from the best price/performance options, very far.
