Before Christmas we asked you to send us your designs for Intel's new NUC case modding competition. Last year's effort yielded some fantastic designs and five of these went on to take physical form as their designers received brand new NUCs from Intel to make their cases with.

Today, Intel has launched its next generation of NUCs based on the low power version of its 5th Generation Core 'Broadwell' processors and it's these that our modders have been beavering away designing cases for. It's been tough picking the final five out of over a dozen fantastic designs that were entered (we'll be taking a look at all of them soon) but without further ado here are the winners of stage one:
