Electronic Arts is continuing its On The House promotion, designed to get more users to install and use its Origin digital distribution service, with its latest offer being a free copy of classic Bullfrog title Theme Hospital.

While the On The House programme launched back in March 2014 with a more recent title, the company has been concentrating on its classic back-catalogue of late. In August last year users could pick up a copy of Wing Commander III, or in December the classic SimCity 2000. Now, the giveaway continues with a free copy of Theme Hospital for all-comers.

Developed by Les Edgar and Peter Molyneux's Bullfrog and launched by EA in 1997, Theme Hospital - a result of the incredible popularity enjoyed by simulation titles in the 90s - saw the player charged with building and managing a profit-driven hospital. Taking its queue from its spiritual predecessor Theme Park, released in 1994, Theme Hospital features humorous - if a little dark at times - graphics on an isometric layout. It was well-received by critics at launch, but the franchise failed to survive the great sim crash and - save for re-releases of the game on PlayStation and mobile platforms - has never enjoyed a sequel.

Normally sold via Origin for £3.99, the game is going free for a limited time. Interested parties can snag the freebie from the Origin page, while the offer is open to all; if you don't have an Origin account, then you can simply sign up for one - the reason, after all, EA is running the On The House promotion in the first place.
