The Build Process continued

ASUS made it clear when I planned this case that they did not want a place for an optical unit, so I decided to make something more special for the two Raptor-drives that would power this future beast.

I started off by making a tunnel-like shape from a sheet of 1mm aluminium. This would act as a funnel to direct the colder air at the Raptors providing some cooling for them.

Next step was the holders for the drives themselves that needed to secure them to the case side. I had slightly stressed about it but it proved to be very straightforward. To hide away all the screwheads (Not normally like me, I know), I decided to simply make another panel to put over the inner one.

After I started to do the same to the front end it really started to take shape as a whole case.
