Mod your iBook

Fancy something a little more... fruity than your average Mac?

A cunning Mac Modder has discovered how to disassemble an iBook and mod the back logo to be a bit more colourful.

The back of the iBook and Powerbook both have cutouts on the chassis that create an illuminated Apple logo. The light is created by the same backlight that powers the screen.

With some careful unhinging and unscrewing, it's possible to place some translucent plastic between the backlight and the casing, creating a coloured effect.

We're waiting for someone to recreate the original Apple logo on the back of their iBook.

Simple yet effective?

And if that doesn't float your boat, stayed tuned, it seems, for a widescreen iBook.

Think it rocks? Think it sucks? Let us know!
