Binding post, unbound, yesterday.
Fancy a quick go at a homebrew project?
One crafty electronics geek has taken a standard ATX power supply and rewired it substantially. With some cunning modding, it now switches on and off independently of an ATX connection, and has binding posts for connecting external devices.
The modified supply can be used to power electronics projects, and you can imagine the potential for in-case integration with circuits and lights in your system.
Note that we will not be responsible for you blowing up your PC, powersupply, or killing yourself, but the project makes for interesting reading. There's plenty of pictures of the dissection, along with tips for rewiring the insides of your PSU to make it just a little neater.
If any of you are stuck with Dell machines, however, it seems that their wiring is a little bizarre. No standard colour codes for those chaps - we suspect that Dell's weren't really meant to be modded.
