Glinde, 01/07/2008. Power supply maker be quiet! has set a new benchmark as the first hardware maker in the world to achieve official “NVIDIA SLI-Ready Certified” status for a 450w power supply unit (Dark Power PRO series). The distinction attests the stable operation of an SLI computer system. This big step is made possible through the very high efficiency and highly stable output signals of the Dark Power PRO series. Until now, this distinction has been the exclusive realm of significantly more powerful and expensive power supply units.

SLI is short for “Scalable Link Interface” and refers to the linking of several graphics processors to achieve increased graphics performance and quality. The SLI certification inspection process is overseen by graphic card maker nVidia. The minimum suggested requirements for critical system components as recommend by nVidia ensure stable operation of an SLI system.

The power supply plays an important role here: it must reliably supply the PC system and its graphics cards with power, even when running at full capacity itself or during short extreme performance bursts related to 3D renderings. The be quiet! Dark Power PRO 450W clears that hurdle through extremely high efficiency and highly stable output signals.
