Enermax has announced the impending launch of its latest flagship CPU cooler, the ETS-T50 Axe, with features including a rotatable air grille and its Dust Free Rotation (DFR) system.

Designed to sit at the very top of Enermax's CPU cooler line-up, the ETS-T50 Axe is to launch in white and black finishes with bundled three-colour LED fans. The heatsink itself is based around an asymmetrical tower layout using five 6mm heat pipes in direct contact with the CPU heatspreader and featuring what Enermax describes as a Pressure Differential Flow (PDF) design, a patented implementation of an airflow-accelerating cone-shaped tunnel through the fin stack claimed to boost overall airflow by 15 percent.

The performance of the cooler is further boosted, Enermax claims, by the use of an adjustable grille on the rear side in place of a second fan. Rotating this through 360 degrees, users can control the direction of the exhaust airflow - pushing it towards a rear case fan for quicker and more complete removal from the case, for example. The bundled fan also includes Enermax's Dust Free Rotation (DFR) system, first announced as a feature of its DF Pressure fans, which runs the fans in reverse at high speed on power-up in order to dislodge dust building up on the blades.

As well as white and black finishes, both based on Enermax's second-generation Thermal Conductive Coating (TCC) anodisation process, the heatsinks come with five switchable LED modes: red, blue, green, three-colour combo, and off, while the lit modes can also be cycled through sparkle, solid-on, or flash modes.

The Enermax ETS-T50 Axe is to launch later this month with heatsink, fan, grille, and mounting brackets for all recent Intel and AMD socket types, with UK pricing and availability yet to be confirmed. More information is available on the product page.
