Corsair's peripherals arm has announced a new mouse alongside availability of its Strafe RGB Silent gaming keyboard, the first to use Cherry's latest MX RGB Silent mechanical switches.

Corsair announced the Strafe RGB Silent back in August as an upgrade to its existing Strafe gaming keyboard. As well as programmable per-key RGB LED backlighting, the rebuilt keyboard boasted the first implementation of Cherry's MX RGB Silent switches - thanks in no small part to a timed exclusivity agreement between the two companies. Available in 45g-actuation Red and 60g Black variants, the switches feature a revised design boasting two-component tappets designed to reduce the regular 'click' sound at both the top and bottom travel points.

At the time, Corsair had no UK availability or pricing, but the company has now officially released the Strafe RGB Silent into the market priced at £139.99 with two-year warranty. The launch sits alongside the release of a new Corsair Strafe variant with the popular Cherry MX Blue tactile-clicky switch type, with the company promising to add MX Blue options to other keyboards in its range in the near future.

At the same time, Corsair announced a new gaming mouse dubbed the Katar. Built in partnership with professional gaming teams, the mouse includes an 8,000 dots per inch (DPI) resolution optical sensor, a lightweight 85g body, wired USB connectivity, a 1,000Hz polling rate, ambidextrous design, and four programmable buttons plus on-the-fly DPI tuning. The mouse is priced at £28.99, with a textile-weave MM300 available as an extra at £9.99, £12.99 or £19.99 for small, medium, or 'extended' sizes respectively. The mouse is available now, with the MM30 mat launching in November.
