Cryorig has announced another heatsink for the compact computing enthusiast, this time taking aim at cases with just about enough room for a tower cooler with the new M9.

Marking the first in Cryorig's new entry-level M series, the M9 - which will launch in two variants, the M9i and M9a for Intel and AMD sockets respectively - features many of the same buzzword-compliant innovations as its more expensive stablemates. There's a True Copper Base, designed to improve heat transfer to the three 6mm copper heatpipes; aluminium fins aligned in a format which includes a wider air intake and narrower air exhaust area and the company calls its Jet Fin Acceleration System; and a variant on the company's MultiSeg Quick Mount System.

Designed for the lower-priced M series, the MultiSeg Lite still includes a sturdy backplate and what the company claims is one of the quickest and easiest mounting systems around. The simplicity is increased thanks to a design which avoids fouling PCI Express and RAM slots on even the most compact of motherboard, coupled with a total height of 124.6mm suitable for compact cases.

Compatible with all recent AMD and Intel socket types, the company claims the 425g cooler - which comes bundled with a CR-9225 92mm fan - is good up to 120W thermal design profile (TDP) parts. Both models are due to launch in Asia and the US this month, with European availability scheduled for October at a €26.99 manufacturer's recommended retail price.

More information is available on the company's product page.
