Galax has announced the launch of liquid-cooled GeForce GTX 970 and GTX 980 graphics cards, under its Hall of Fame family and created in partnership with Diamond Cooling.

Featuring a completely redesigned layout which is claimed to be specifically optimised for the Nvidia GM204 graphics processor, the new Galax HOF cards feature a ten-layer PCB finished in white and with an extended width compared to the reference design - offering, Galax claims, 'optimised layout and cleaner signal.' An IR3595 digital pulse-width modulation (PWM) controller offers a claimed double the switching frequency of a stock design, while premium components continue with 'aerospace-grade GALAXExtreme Power Inductors' in support of a bundled overvolting tool for higher overclocking.

All these new features are supported by a waterblock, one single design shared by both the GTX 970 and GTX 980 variants. Custom-engineered for the company's PCB design, the block features pure copper with nickel plating and a PETG acrylic and white acetal top. The complete PCB is covered by the upper, although the coldplate itself naturally only comes in contact with those components which require active cooling. The design includes universal 1/4" coolant ports, and includes a coolant channel built for optimal flow with bidirectional hookups.

The Galax GTX 970 Hall of Fame (HOF) comes with a base clock of 1,216MHz and a boost clock of 1,418MHz; the Galax GTX 980 HOF, meanwhile, arrives at 1,304MHz base and 1,418MHz boost. Galax has yet to indicate whether it plans to bring the cards, currently available exclusively through its US web shop, to the UK.

More information is available on the company's official website.
