Samsung Giving Away 50 840 Evo SSDs

Samsung Giving Away 50 840 Evo SSDs

The 840 Evo picked up a premium grade award when we looked at it thanks to its raw speed, boosted by its Rapid Mode feature and excellent software

Samsung has launched a game-based competition where you can win one of 50 840 Evo SSDs.

On its Facebook page here, the SSD manufacturer's game requires you to click on an SSD flying across the screen. You then enter your details to be in with a chance of winning one of the SSDs and you can enter more than once.

An SSD will whiz across the screen in a random path - all you need to do is catch the SSD using your cursor (on desktop) or finger (on mobile). The game itself is so fast, it will only take seconds to play.

The 840 Evo is one of the fastest SSDs we've seen, with read speeds of up to 962MB/sec when Samsung's Rapid mode is enabled. Every day from now until the end of May, two 840 Evo SSDs will be given away.

You can see our reviews of the 120GB, 500GB, 750GB and 1TB versions of the 840 Evo here and don't forget to head over to the competition page here to get your entries in.

What were your times? I did it once at 0.70 but I am sure that the winners will be sub 0.20.
Cerberus90 7th May 2014, 22:04 Quote
I don't think your time has any relevance to your chance of winning.
SchizoFrog 7th May 2014, 22:12 Quote
You are correct, the winners are chosen at random as I just checked. What some might not know is that entries are daily and unlimited but they do get wiped each day so you have to enter each day as a prize is drawn each day.

At least until Facecrap changes their policy and privacy settings, to which then you'll have to set it up aaaaaaaaaaaaall over again.

Doesn't matter if someone can find me or not, as I simply don't want to support this company by setting up an account. Same goes for Google, Twitter, etc.

So yeah, no thanks.

Um, no I wont.

There is no info on there, I haven't added any friends or uploaded any photos, or even set a status message. I only set it up so I can occasionally access crap like this and other things that are stupidly limited to facebook only.

Yet you feel the need to comment on something you have no interest in?

I don't have a facebook account (my face looks like a horrible accident, after all) and I could play with no problem.

0.50 seconds...

though cant help but think its a bit unfair for those who have slower reactions.
Jim 8th May 2014, 10:05 Quote
Phil is correct. It might be hosted on Facebook, but you don't need to be logged in to play (and thus enter).

After you "win", you need to enter your name and email address for the entry to be recorded.
Shirty 8th May 2014, 11:14 Quote
Yep, I played it without being logged in.

So why don't they post it on their own page? I've blocked facebook.com alltogether via my hosts.dat.
