Camouflage memory, what next...?
OCZ has announced a new line of gaming
memory modules that come with a bit of a twist.
The company is taking the meaning of gaming memory
to a whole new level, as it has opted to target military personnel with its DPM-covered Special Ops Edition memory line. Yes, that's right, OCZ is now shipping camouflaged memory modules that use the XTC heatspreader technology.
The Special Ops Edition line will come in either single 1GB modules or 2x1GB dual channel kits on both DDR and DDR2. There is a single DDR SKU, running at PC3200 with 2.5-3-3-8 timings. OCZ also offers two DDR2 SKUs that run at DDR2-667 and DDR2-800 respectively.
The DDR2-667 SKU uses 4.0-4-4-12 timings, while the DDR2-800 part is rated to run at 5.0-5-5-12 timings. Both kits run at 1.9V and are warranted to 2.2V using OCZ's Extended Voltage Protection feature.
OCZ says that its Special Ops Edition product line is 'the ultimate memory upgrade for the latest graphic-intensive PC games.'
One recommendation we'd make is not to remove the memory while you're in the field...
