Dell's Heavy Ordnance concept PC goes on sale later this year.
Back when we showed you Dell's E3 concept rig
a couple of days ago, the feedback in the forums was that it looked like a pretty swish rig. Well, Dell has formally announced its, well, existence.
The system is called 'Heavy Ordnance' and is scheduled to appear on Dell's virtual shelves later this year in a full configurable form. In the meantime, you can attempt to win one customised with X-Men 3 graphics over at Dell's X-Men website
Dell had this to say:
"The XPS gaming concept PC was designed with a single purpose - total domination. The aluminium case has been engineered to help optimize thermal reduction, future expansion and upgrades, quietness and overall system performance. Inside, it's packed with the technology gamers crave, including some of the latest processors, graphics capabilities and performance hard drives, and it will be the most customizable system Dell has ever offered. The result is a next-generation gaming PC that's among the most peowerful home computers on the planet."
The customizable bit is certainly true - when we saw it at E3, it appeared to use standard ATX components like power supplies and motherboards, rather than the proprietory standards Dell usually uses.
No word on the pricing yet, but you can check out the intimate details of the machine over at Dell's E3 website
. Take a look, then let us know what you think of the system over in the forums.
