This board looks absolutely awesome, just a shame that there was only 1000 of them made...
CeBIT 2006: DFI has just celebrated its 25th anniversary with a very special limited edition motherboard based on NVIDIA's SLI technology.
The board - known as the LANParty UT nF4 SLI-DR Venus - is based on Socket 939 and uses a custom designed PCB with 100% Japan-made solid aluminium electrolytic capacitors. These capacitors are considerably more expensive than the standard Japanese capacitors found on any other motherboard.
We spoke to one of OCZ's engineers who has worked closely with DFI on the LANParty nF4 series motherboards. He said that the board is one of the most overclockable motherboards he's ever seen.
The board has roughly the same layout and feature set as the company's LANParty UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert motherboard. A DFI representative said that their BIOS engineers have made the board even more tweakable than any of the company's recent enthusiast-orientated mobos.
Apparently, there was one that sold on Ebay for well over US$450. Crazy!
If you could get hold of one of these boards, would you snap it up regardless of cost? Let us know in the forums
