EA have announced they’ll be delaying Mirror’s Edge Catalyst again to push it back to June 7th in North America and June 9th across Europe, a two week delay on it’s previous release date at the end of May.

This is the second delay for the title, after it was originally delayed three months from its supposed release in February of this year.

The first time around the excuse went that the team needed time to polish the game’s mechanics, this time around the team need more time to work on the Social Play features, whatever they are.

I’m generally quite sympathetic towards delays. You can only launch a game once and in an era where most games are broken for a few weeks after their release, I’m generally quite content to wait a bit longer for a product that feels… well, finished.

The team also mentioned they want to respond to feedback from the closed beta, running from April 22nd until April 26th. If this is the case, they probably knew they were delaying for a few weeks and were waiting for a good time to announce it - hiding it amongst of the beta chatter in the next few days is a smart way to go about it.

What do you make of the delay? Do you hate delays or would you rather get the finished product from the word go?
