Nvidia teases Game24 celebration

Nvidia has promised that the Game24 event will include exclusive developer interviews, game reveals, and product give-aways, but is currently playing its cards close to its chest.

Nvidia has announced an event it claims will be a day-long celebration of all things PC gaming - or, at least, all things Nvidia-powered PC gaming - dubbed Game24.

Described by the company as 'the first global celebration of PC gamers,' the event will take place on the 18th of September and run for a full 24 hours with local events in London, Los Angeles, Shanghai, and satellite events in Chicago, Mission Viejo, Indianapolis and Stockholm. For those who can't make it to any of the physical locations, the event will also be streamed live from Nvidia's official microsite.

'The goal of this event is simple,' the company claims in its promotional material for the event, 'to celebrate this thing we all love called PC gaming. It will be packed with exclusive content, developer interviews, game reveals, give-aways, and more.'

Details of exactly what the event will include are currently thin on the ground, with Nvidia promising to reveal more as the week progresses. Tickets to the events, while limited in number, are free, with early registration encouraged to avoid disappointment.

The event comes as the various subsections of the gaming community are embroiled in yet another drama, dubbed GamerGate, in which gaming journalists are accused of being in bed - in at least one salaciously-rumoured case, quite literally - with game developers. Whether Game24 will help to remind people that gaming is a hobby and not a crusade in which any opposition real or imagined must be destroyed remains to be seen.

Registration is available on the official website with more details promised to appear on the page later in the week.
