Sony has literally taken the wraps of its upcoming games console in a rather peculiar new PS4 unboxing video.

The video shows that included with the 500GB console will be one DualShock 4 controller, a mono headset, an HDMI cable, a manual, a voucher for free PSN services, and yes, both an AC power cable and a USB cable!

Hardly revolutionary stuff, but Sony has at least applied its own unique style to the video, with the unboxing taking place in a strange spaceship cockpit/server room and the unboxer wearing brown leather gloves.

The mystery man behind the gloves is none other than Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, who finishes the video with the company's "greatness awaits" line.

The Sony PlayStation 4 release date will be later this week on Friday 15 November in the US and then on 29 November in the UK and Europe then throughout December for other regions. Finally it will hit Japan in February 2014.
