Grand Theft Auto V has experienced a schedule slip, dropping from a planned May release to September - and Rockstar is still silent on when, or even if, PC gamers will get the title.
Rockstar has officially announced a release date for Grand Theft Auto V, and it's not good news for fans of the series: the game is now delayed until September.
Originally pencilled in for a May launch, Grand Theft Auto will now not hit shop shelves until the 17th of September leaving fans of the series somewhat unreasonably venting their spleens on a 4,900-long comment thread attached to Rockstar Games'
official announcement. Worse, the scheduled launch date appears to only apply to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game, with no news yet available regarding the company's plans for a PC launch.
'
We know this is about four months later than originally planned and we know that this short delay will come as a disappointment to many of you, but, trust us, it will be worth the extra time' a Rockstar spokesperson explained in the official announcement. '
GTA V is a massively ambitious and complex game and it simply needs a little more polish to be of the standard we and, more importantly, you require. To all Grand Theft Auto fans, please accept our apologies for the delay, and our promise that the entire team here is working very hard to make the game all it can be. We are doing all we can to help ensure it will meet if not exceed your expectations come September – we thank you for your support and patience.'
That patience, it would seem, is in short supply. Gamers commenting on the announcement were quick to cry foul, with comments ranging from the delay being '
the saddest day of my life' to one gamer claiming '
I don't think I have ever been this disappointed by a game' - clearly having never been a fan of the Duke Nukem franchise. Some posters even claimed Rockstar was engaging in a conspiracy, delaying its title to launch on next-generation consoles - something Rockstar strenuously denies.
'
To those of you saying or seeing various conspiracy theories about there being some other ulterior motive for this delay, rest assured that they’re all nonsense – literally the only reason we’ve delayed the release is because we want the game to be as good as it needs to be,' the company claimed in an official response to the storm of comments, just after warning posters to refrain from being abusive in their comments - something that has seen several posts from the giant thread excised.

On the other hand - i'm not making squillions
Exactly. They'd also be the first to complain when there was a bug.
They must be disappointed for pretty large proportions of their lives.
All the ten year olds whose lives have suddenly become not worth living because of this delay should "Get a life and grow up" Oh right, your ten
It isn't and they won't. *******s.
At least the delay is over summer so we can go out and play! ;)
I think it will be released later than the consoles, but that is fine with me.
That's what I think too.
I saw some evidence of GTA 5 PC version on another website. Apparently one of the staff who worked on it has it on their linkedin or something. I can find the link if anyone cares. Either way, I think it's a safe bet, but I think we are going to have to wait until 2014 :(
Anyone who would react in such a way, present signs of not being old enough to actually play the game.
So your looking at feb/march 2014 for GTA5 Pc. Which is a very long wait for 1 game.
Yes! It does concern me to think about how that person would mentally process a GTA game.
Outside is a multiplayer game with many pitfalls. The graphics are great and rendered in real-time at max resolution, but you only have the choice to play hardcore, where if you die, you die. Also the females in Outside do not wear revealing armor/clothing like most games, and they might slap you if you caress their midriff, or they might not. Outside is risky, and full of solar radiation and natural disasters. Not sure what rating to give it, the dev of Outside was not reachable for a demo or comment.
There's a lot less people with swords and guns riding unicorns than usual though, I find that refreshing.
(The healing system sucks though)
I was annoyed by the level of microtransactions required and there cost. practically became a job for me.
