Mode 7 has announced Frozen Synapse for the iPad, with a beta on the way shortly.
Indie developer Mode 7 has announced that the fantastic turn-based strategy game Frozen Synapse will soon be headed to Apple's iPad platform after a low-key reveal at Nottingham's GameCity event recently.
Mode 7 also used the announcement to reveal that Frozen Synapse has sold over 300,000 units on PC, Mac and Linux to date.
'
Despite my lumpen, sausage-like digits, I am particularly excited about Frozen Synapse coming to the iPad,' said joint Managing Director Paul Taylor in a statement.
Frozen Synapse for the iPad will enter beta soon, says Mode 7, who have confirmed that the game will be compatible with both the original iPad 1 and newer iPad 2.
'
Not only are we doing this iPad thing, but we are also looking at better ways of updating and supporting the game on its current platforms – expect some new things in the New Year.'
A price and final release date for the iPad version of Frozen Synapse will be announced next year.
Frozen Synapse has been a
Bit-Gamer Hall of Fame inductee since it was released earlier this year. We still play it and we still think it's awesome too - which should help explain the 95 per cent score and Premium Award.

I love strategy games like this, on iOS there are some great ones for example:

More or less space hulk, the game

Great little war game
However I do have to say I have yet to find a game where I felt I needed an ipad over an iPhone to be honest, fair enough it is nice to have all that extra screen space but not for the £399 that an ipad costs, hence why I feel if the devs could support the iPhone and cheaper Android Tablets they would make a killing
the game will work perfectly on iPad, enlarge control icons slightly, pinch to zoom and 2 finger to pan around. best part is that Game Centre have turn-based API's with push notification. the game will be more than idea for iOS.
can't wait! it'll be one of the few games i purchase on iOS. (i've only been playing free games, i feel games are not worth the money, only bought apps that i'll always use)
Cross-platform play was confirmed in their blog. There's also some pictures of it running.

The internet, it is a good place to find this information :p.
Yes, YES GLWG is a fantastic game. Its also on Android, i've had it a month and i'm addicted.
Frozen Synapse looks like the perfect phone (or tablet *mubbles*) game. That is why I haven't bought it yet as I have been waiting for phone version. Add in cross platform play and the world will be a better place.
Do it dev's, you owe it to the world. ;)
