World of Battleships announced

At GamesCom 2011 has announced World of Battleships.

In the run-up to GamesCom 2011, PC strategy and RPG developer has announced a second follow-up to smash hit MMO World of Tanks - World of Battleships.

World of Battleships is, along with World of Tanks and World of Warplanes, the third in's World of... series - though only World of Tanks is currently available to play.

Confirmed as adhering to the same free-to-play mould as World of Tanks, World of Battleships will...well, it'll be like World of Tanks, but with Battleships instead.

'The large assortment of available warships will give various tactical opportunities, as all the machines have a unique combination of firepower, speed, armor, and endurance,' says the official announcement.

'Various naval maps with changing weather conditions will enrich the gameplay, and the realistic graphics will transport players into the epic battles that changed the course of human history.'

We'll be catching up with at GamesCom 2011 in Cologne over the next few days, so we'll bring you more information as we get it. Until then, let us know your thoughts in the forums.

Sweet, this should be better than World of Warplanes :)

I hope they allow you to transfer free xp between WoT and this.

I've a feeling that this could actually work better than World of Warplanes might, because the game play pace will be slower and much more on a par with World of Tanks, rather than the high speed aircraft action that you would expect to be in World of Warplanes.
Looks promising.

That would be pretty cool. I wonder if you'll be able to use the WOT loader for it, via the "which game" option.

Looking forward to both games. High pace in WOP and glacial pace in this. ^_^

Be nice if they can integrate all these different "worlds" into one community.
Even better if in the future they can intergrate them?
Say a tanks beach landing (screw realism) with all three vehicles being playable.

According to the press release you'll be able to use 'a common economic system that will allow players to distribute resources between the three games for the ultimate progress in each of them.' So I'm not sure of this is XP or credits or both, but I'm more interested in this that World of warplanes :)

what about aircraft carriers ?, and beach assault landers ?, would be pretty cool if you could go load up your planes and tanks from other wargaming titles, and simulate air/sea/land operations that ww2 was famous for,.

thats what people are wanting, combined arms warfare, HOWEVER, the battlefield series and the much maligned Battle for Midway and Battle for the Pacific titles already tried this to some degree, battlefield concentrates on the fps viewpiont, and the midway and pacific titles played like an rpg, World of War maps would have to be huge, to accomodate all the various vehicles, ships and planes, although, having seen the size of the new battlefield 3 multiplayer maps, its possible, you would need a fairly decent spec pc though, the idea is appealing though, imagine driving your light tank through the countryside, you spot 4/5 heavy tanks in a wood hiding, now, do you call on the arty ?, or call in a fast bomber squad to carpet bomb the area, or give a shout to the Lander sitting in the bay a few clicks away to land 3 heavy tanks at the rear, the strategy options would be immense, although the player count would have to go up to around 64 for each team, cmon WARGAMING, MAKE WORLD OF
