Funcom has accidentally revealed the release date for upcoming MMO, The Secret World.
Funcom has accidentally revealed the release date for upcoming MMO The Secret World ahead of a planned announcement at GamesCom 2011, according to
RPS.
The news comes from an official press release which apparently slipped out ahead of the announcement by The Secret World's writer, Ragnar Tornquist.
The Secret World will be released in April 2012, with beta registrations opening later this month on 26 August.
Based in an original modern day setting that weaves magic and conspiracy together, The Secret World previously existed under the codename 'The World Online'.

I'm giving MMOs a miss until someone comes up with an innovative new game mechanic (or makes the current model less monotonous)
Great MMO that doesnt invovle any of those things.......
However the thing MMO's get me on are the insane time commitment required.........and monthly sub's
Maybe a Left for Dead type MMO?
But still i think the anarchy online is the best game what funcom haves game is old but good.
You should read up on The Secret World I guess. Sure there'll be some kill-quets, but the game will be full of riddles instead of the usual quests found in other MMOs. Quests where you need to google the terms and stories behind them to solve the riddle etc.
The character-progression is done via learning skills and you're totally free to choose any of the 500+ initially available ones. No classes, no character-levels and three factions instead of only black and white.
So no, this won't be the typical MMOa actually.
