Polish shops reveal The Witcher 2 Xbox 360 release date

CD Projekt will release The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 this November, say Polish retailers.

Two major Polish retailers have let slip the release date for the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, pointing to 15th November this year.

The Witcher 2 was previously revealed as coming to the Xbox 360 earlier this year when American age rating body, the ESRB, let the news.

This latest news stems from Polish retailers Gram.pl and Ultima, the former of which has revealed box art for the game while the latter has named the date. Gram.pl's role is especially relevant, as the retailer used to be owned by CD Projekt.

There's no sign, either from developer CD Projekt or any other sources, that The Witcher 2 will be released for the PlayStation 3.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings was released for PC back on the 17th May, going down very well with critics and gamers alike.

'Those who take the time to immerse themselves in the world and understand the characters will find an experience that’ll be tough to beat - not just for future RPGs, but all future titles,' we said in our The Witcher 2 review.

Good, it deserves to be played by everyone.

@DragunovHUN

I'd chill if I were you. At least until we see just how cut down the game has to be to work on your pocket calculator of a console.

You have no idea what i was talking about. Lol at your little attack.

The PC release already showed consolified features, all they have to do now is turn down the graphics.

I agree.

Just started playing it and TBH i can't believe how so many people are commenting how this is a "true PC game". The whole thing felt even more console orientated than Mass Effect (IMO).

I'm not saying that it's bad, just that lots of things felt more cumbersome using my mouse than when i plugged in my controller.

Ah yeah, i also want to clarify that i think the game is outstanding, it's just that it was obviously prepared for a multiplatform release from the get-go.

Surely there'll be a problem here though: the reviews I've said have all commented on how it expects you to have a background in the lore - basically it expects you to have played the first game. If the first game wasn't released on console, surely this will affect a lot more people.

I'm not saying that I disagree with the approach, mind. In fact, I prefer it - no one complains that you need to watch the first film in a trilogy to understand what's going on later! It's nice to have to do a little digging to find things out. I don't want to be spoon-fed.

Agreed, but I am a little disappointed at how obvious it was due to the controls. I have no probem them porting the pc version over with dumbed down graphics and controls as long as it doesn't have an effect on the pc version, which in this case it kinda did.

Yeah dude, I didn't play the Wither one but it in no way has affected my love for the 2nd game.

Hope it does well and earns CDP a shed load of cash, but most of all I hope they always keep the PC as the main platform and we continue to get the first releases of future games.
