Hitman 5: Absolution teaser trailer released

Hitman 5: Absolution teaser trailer released

IO Interactive has released a new Hitman 5 teaser, revealing the title Hitman: Absolution.

IO Interactive has released the first teaser trailer for the much-rumoured fifth entry in the Hitman series, though no official announcement has yet been made.

A full unveiling is now expected to arrive at E3 on June 7th, 2011, based on hints dropped in a Hitman alternate reality and a date hidden towards the end of the teaser trailer.

The teaser trailer doesn't show any in-game footage, but does reveal a title for Hitman 5 - Hitman: Absolution.

The last entry in the series, Hitman: Blood Money, is widely regarded as a stealth-action classic and was released in 2006. Since then Danish developer IO Interactive has been mainly concerned with the Kane and Lynch series, which exists within the same universe as Hitman according to references riddled throughout both series.

We recently pined for Hitman's classic stealth-murder mix in our The Death of Stealth feature.

There's no further information on Hitman: Absolution at the moment, though a more full announcement is expected tomorrow, so check out the teaser below and let us know your thoughts in the forums.

Perhaps he'll put a bullet in the heads of Kane and Lynch and put the series out of its misery.

Wouldn't that be the day. What a horrible concept. Imagine they ditched the sequel to Freedom Fighters, and Hitman, for that utterly bland IP.

If that was ever confirmed as the case, heads would roll.

great one of my favourite series! loved all the hitman games, and the dark brooding psychological story, or and Jasper Kyd music!

Interesting. I just watched the Hitman movie again about a week ago. Never played the series, but when I bought the movie a couple of years ago it came packaged with the full version of Blood Money.

I've been contemplating installing it just to see what it's all about. I just perused the manual for it and it does seem rather complicated though with the different actions that can be performed.
