The First Templar release date announced

Haemimont Games has announced a 6th May release date for The First Templar on PC and Xbox 360.

Developer Haemimont Games has announced a release date for upcoming hack-and-slash title The First Templar, on both Xbox 360 and PC.

Gamers can now expect to get their hands on The First Templar on 6th May, 2011.

Announced back in June last year, The First Templar is a third person medieval melee game that sees players controlling a number of different characters on a quest for The Holy Grail.

The First Templar will come complete with a co-operative mode that lets players team up with a friend, as well as light RPG elements to expand the core violence.

We took a look at The First Templar back at GamesCom 2010, where we saw a noticeably rough version of the game that showed off the basic gameplay. Expect lots rolling, hacking and slashing in the usual fantasy environments, as well as some lack-lustre graphics, if what we saw is indicative of the final release.

It will unfortunately not feature either the Great Black Beast of Arrgh, nor the Bunny of Caerbannog.

It looks bloody awful. I like stuff about templars and whatnot, there is a great book called The Last Templar which is well worth reading... But this game just looks bad.

This game was basically created because people saw how popular Assassin's Creed was while killing the Templars and decided to make a game showing the other side of the conflict. Or maybe it doesn't, i just looked at the pic and was disgusted with how it was portrayed.
