New Homefront trailer released

New Homefront trailer released

Homefront is set for release on March 18th, 2011 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

THQ has released a new trailer for Homefront, the new shooter being developed by Kaos Studios and Digital Extremes - the latter of whom is taking charge of the enhanced PC version.

Set in the year 2027, Homefront tells the story of an American resistance as they fight to overthrow a united Korean army that has successfully occupied the US - a storyline written by John Milius, the man behind Apocalypse Now and Red Dawn.

Homefront is currently set for UK release on March 18th on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

We had a look at Homefront last year out at GamesCom 2010, where developer Kaos Studios showed off how it will use carefully scripted sequences to create an intense singleplayer experience based around familiar locations.

The multiplayer, on the other hand, will be opened up for large-scale battles involving land and air-borne vehicles. Check out our Homefront preview for more information.

The new trailer shows off a brief snippet of gameplay, as well as some live-action scenes. Check it out below, then let us know your thoughts in the forums.

Working fine for me too.

From the previews online it's looking hopeful that this isn't going to be another mindless shooter like BLOPS or MOH.

I think most americans can't fathom the idea of war, as geographically and politically there was never an impending threat of domestic invasion since the wars with mexico and 1812.

Basically no american alive can imagine what sort of threat would have the power to invade the homeland.
looks like It will be a fun scripted shooter, which is all I care about.

Anyone interested in this? Spotify ad called it a thinking man's CodBlops....Never sure about any ad campaign that makes a direct comparison to another game....makes me feel like they have something to prove and are just a knock off...but on the other hand I kinda like the ideas behind this game.

Great tag line:

"Home is where the war is."

Actually, this will be very dependent on whether or not they can handle mature themes properly.

Beg to differ on that one.... the PRC has gotten to the point in the last few years where they could definitely be a legitimate military threat to the US Mainland. I personally doubt it will happen anytime soon, but it is a possibility.

Mind explaining your meaning before I jump to any conclusions? I don't usually get sarcasm in real life, let along in text :(.
