Blizzard has confirmed Project Titan, the studio's next MMO, but hasn't offered further details.
Blizzard's senior VP and co-founder, Frank Pearce, has confirmed that the developer is currently working on a new MMO, called Project Titan.
That Blizzard has been working on a new MMO has been rumoured and let slip a few times over the last few years, but this official confirmation arrives shortly after an alleged leaked roadmap for the company. The documents laid out projected release dates for Blizzard over the next few years, with Project Titan listed as a 2013 release.
'
Titan is... the media is not meant to know anything about that.' Pearce told Destructoid.
'
It's our next-gen MMO and we've only started talking about it in a limited fashion because we want to leverage the fact that we're working on something like that for the purpose of recruiting – getting some of the best talent in the industry on that.'
Pearce stopped short of confirming any other details about Project Titan, which is speculated to be a sci-fi MMOFPS and a brand new IP for Blizzard.
Other items on the alleged roadmap include a late 2011 release date for Diablo 3, opening up Battle.net to third parties, two further World of Warcraft expansions and 'WoW mobile'.

But they've already cleared up that this isn't replacing WoW, theres another 2 expansions planned for WoW.
But then again, not everyone who plays WoW is logical and calm about these things.
As much as I love Steam, the price of the average new release on their store screams they're in desperate need of worthy competition.
Well, irrationality is hardly limited to WoW but yeah, some people are hard of thinking.
Nah don't be silly, this ones about gizards and woblins.
What about rock n roll racing?
Maybe they're gonna do World of Starcraft?
Aslong as Titan isn't going to be a SciFi-themed PvP-focused sandbox MMO with playerdriven politics and FFA territorial warfare it's no competition to EvE Online.
The best bet would be, that Titan is going to be something like World of Starcraft or better said... WoW in SciFi-dressup.
I don't think it'd be the same team. Diablo is mainly 8(-16) players, whereas PT will be thousands of them.
At Blizzard's development/release rate Titan won't come out until 1100000000 AD anyway! Seriously, it'll be another decade before this sees the light. And my bets are on a Starcraft MMO. I understand Blizz have about 5 dev teams on the go at any one time so can pull and share resources as necessary. I just can't wait for D3.
Ha ha ha you sound just like an advert for EvE.
TBH I dont expect it would be much competition and it would have to go a long way to drag me out of my proteus but it could prove interesting.
For some reason "SAPPORTIN" made me lol :)
They said it's a new IP, so World of Starcraft is unlikely.
Looking forward to more details on it though, I'm tired of how a good chunk of MMOs are set in the older days.
GIZARDS & WOBLINS..............sign me up!!
I had to chuckle. ;)
Maybe, think about it, they had Warcraft, then made World of Warcraft.
Now starcraft, then World of Starcraft, :D
edit: someone else has said this :P
on my face a smile was put !
edit : I lol'ed, actually
still waiting for guildwars 2.. hope it comes out before diablo
It could be though. It could be WoW2 or World of Starcraft or whatever. The Titan thing is just like a project name.
Well, they no doubt will use similar ideas but I think they will definitely try to totally outdo themselves, and therefore everyone else too. So it could be really good. It will no doubt be super 'casual', but it could still be good. Maybe.
Of course it's all speculation on my part but I think that's the logical thing to do.
All i say is that i was one of the unlucky few to buy APB thinking it mightve been good, to be disappointed...it doesnt work. stick with swords, axes, bows and magic, its much nicer :)

Does anyone else see the links? Sure, it's a new IP for Blizzard, but that doesn't mean it's not from somewhere else :) Sci-fi, check. FPS, check. "Titan"-codename, check.
Too much coincidence imo.
As long as I don't see the words Halo MMO made by Blizzard then I'll be OK.
WoW in SciFi-dressup, wouldn't that be a little bit like RF online? just hopefully a lot more play-able than RF :P
