Deathspank coming to PC and Mac

Ron Gilbert's Deathspank is finally coming to PC and Mac later this month.

Electronic Arts and Hothead Games have announced that Deathspank, the Diablo-style RPG from the man behind the first Monkey Island games, will finally be coming to PC and Mac later this month.

Ron Gilbert's Deathspank was released on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade back in July, but a PC release was unconfirmed and seemed increasingly unlikely.

Hothead's Vlad Ceraldi told Eurogamer however that a PC version of the game was now planned for release and had come about as a direct result of pressure from fans.

Deathspank will be priced at £9.99 in the UK when it finally touches down on the PC, or £8.99 for pre-orderers.

Deathspank tells the story of a deluded hero, the eponymous Deathspank, who sets out on a grand adventure to collect a magical artefact called The Magical Artefact. He doesn't know why he wants it, but he knows it is his destiny.

Hmm I dunno. This didn't really get stellar reviews on console. I think I'll stick with Darksiders as my next title.

2nd ones already on the consoles (and again they're both pretty good). Wouldn't really call it a diablo style game though (more a Zelda IV style hack n slash, with more weapon powerups and no gadgets).

I'm still suprised Joe hasn't done a review of it yet, tbh.

I'm really interested in DeathSpank, but as much as I'm interested, the price seems just a bit high for my blood. Make it ten bucks and I'm in no question... call me stingy but I've heard that the gameplay in this thing is really repetitive and dull, and when the humour doesn't work it has nothing left to prop it up.

I'm interested in the idea that Fan Pressure can persuade developers to take games that were console only and put them on the PC.

Has this happened before and with which titles?

What console titles would people lobby publishers to bring over?

The demo didn't really grab me that much.

I played the DeathSpank demo on 360 and wasn't too impressed with the gameplay - although the humour was ok.
