Silent Hill 8 E3 trailer

Silent Hill 8 E3 trailer

Konami's Silent Hill 8 will introduce new characters such as prison escapee Murphy Pendleton.

At E3 2010 Konami has officially announced that it is working on a new Silent Hill game, currently known only under the working title of Silent Hill 8.

Silent Hill 8 will be developed by Vatra Games, rather than Konami. Vatra is part of the Kuju Entertainment Group, which also covered developers like Headstrong Games. Silent Hill 8 will be Vatra's first project.

According to the press release Silent Hill 8 will be released sometime next year on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

As far as the storyline goes, Vatra will introduce new characters to the series and players will take the role of Murphy Pendleton (That's his name? Really? - Ed), a prison inmate who is the only survivor of a car crash involving his prison transport.

Vatra promises to stay true to the "fight or flight" feel of the original games.

Feature-wise, Vatra says that Silent Hill 8 will have optional side-quests which give players a chance to discover new evils within the town.

I hope the main character is like an accidental murderer or something, like he was cleaning his gun and shot his daughter in the head, or at least something on that level. This way, we can feel sorry for him and not morally justify his suffering, all the while allowing the heart of Silent Hill to torture his mind. I do miss the psycho-emotional underpinnings of James Sunderland's haunted psyche. Finding out what really happened in SH2 was one of the biggest WTF moments in my gaming history.

No PC, no sale.

Sitting halfway across a room from the TV is not the way to experience horror games, despite what Remedy and MS say.

Up close and personal.

All up with these comments. not interested 'til (unless) there's a PC release.

Also this trailer is straight out of 2003... probably wouldn't be interested even IF this was on PC, now that I think about it.
