Modern Warfare 3 may not be developed by Infinity Ward or Treyarch, according to rumours.
File this away inside your head as a rumour for now, but sources close to Activision are claiming that Infinity Ward may not be developing the inevitable
Modern Warfare 3, according to
VG247.
Instead, anonymous sources cited by the site indicate that Infinity Ward are starting work on an entirely new IP and that
Modern Warfare 3 may have been handed to the
unnamed third team said to have become attached to the franchise - i.e., not the other
Call of Duty developer, Treyarch.
The sources are totally anonymous and none of the studios have yet commented on the story, so it's not a rumour which we'd suggest totally buying into just yet, though the idea does make sense.
Hypothetically, the move could allow the now well-know Infinity Ward to create another, new IP while the sure-selling
Modern Warfare 3 could also be in the pipeline somewhere else, crucially without the involvement of Treyarch.
What exactly Treyarch and Infinity Ward may go on to do is unclear, but rumours of a
Call of Duty: Online title are still rife.
Again though, there's absolutely no confirmation or firm credibility yet attached to this rumour, plausible as it sounds.

love the fact it won't be from Treyarch, CoD5 WaW was really bad much worse than CoD2 and too consoley.
And the BT staff ate some tainted fruitcake the week they reviewed MW2 (the only explanation I can come up with guys, go find more AMD interviews!)
I hope people in the FPS genre learn from the cataclysmic and fatal errors of MW2. Dedicated servers are REQUIRED in 2010 and on, not an optional feature some pasty faced MBA can remove because it makes their "PC/Console development cycle more symmetric"!

Your right, I don't know one either, matter of fact I only know one PC gamer that bought it. We all played his copy and were glad we didn't buy it.
Infinity Ward spit in the faces of PC gamers so I can careless what they do or don't make because I won't buy Gimp Ward's products ever.
Call of Duty is like that 80 year old wrestler who keeps popping up for Pay Per View events. GIVE IT UP AND RETIRE your no longer fun and innovative but only an advertisement blitz that produced way more hype than gameplay.
Matter of fact I spent more time watching commercials than it took me to beat the single player cammpaign.
PS. Dear Infinity Ward.
Screen name " Frosty Spill" wants his money back.
And there is going to be a bonus for PC Gamers.... Mouse and Keyboard support!
I hate IW. Would not surprise me if this only comes out for the Xbox 360.
I would have thought it works similar to the music industry, they make the game, the publisher pays for it, and in return, the publisher takes most of the money, but IW would recieve some money based on sales.
Indeed... I was expecting them to totally thrash MW2 but some how they loved it! Well, that's how the business works
I've bought all CoD games ever since the first one, and even though I liked MW I said that I wouldn't purchase MW2..... Sad thing is, I did purchase it. Now I did enjoy the single player campaign, the same way I enjoy any Hollywood blockbuster action film, but as far as the multiplayer, well, let's just say It just doesn't work for me. (specially having a BF2 & BF2142 background). I ended up playing the whole Half-life 2 saga (thank god I also purchased the Orange Box at the same time) which, just for the record, is AWESOME!!!
ALL THE WAY BRO!!!!
You do realise that you can't run your own servers in Bad Company 2 right ? IT has no mods and no public dedicated servers:
http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/battlefield_bad_company/archive/2010/01/07/bfbc2-pc-beta-update-fr-229-n-dice.aspx##
Mod Tools: There will not be mod tools for BFBC2. However a majority of the the games logic is controlled by the server and there will be Serverside control options for the dedicated servers.
Public Server Files: We will not distribute these publicly. There are many factors for why we have decided this with the biggest factor being security & integrity of our game & Dedicated Servers.

However I saw a friend playing it on his PC and it looked amazing. For those that liked MW Cod 4, the single player experience is much better in MW2 .. more refined, better graphically despite the same engine.
So I bought it.
And Ive had so much fun. The Special Ops missions that you can do with a mate are so much fun. The single player experience was better than MW COD 4.
Multiplayer isnt perfect, but its still very much a great deal of fun. The whole weapons systems, unlocks, kill and death streaks are much better than the previous version. IWNet mostly works.. but often is flaky (unable to connect to host). Overall its not as smooth a MP experience as MW Cod 4 and Dedicated servers would be better, but its still a blast playing with friends, and the limitations dont stop us from having fun (you know.. the reason we play such games in the first place). I dont think it deserves to be missed thats for sure.
So you all may pour hate upon it ... like I did, but Truth be told. Since Xmas, its all Ive been playing, and Im loving it. Im glad I bought it.
