Activision has delayed the PC version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 it seems, pushing the multi-platform game back by two weeks on the PC, but not on other platforms.

The game will now be released on November 10th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but has been pushed back until November 24th on the PC according to RockPaperShotgun (beware, link contains some naughty words).

Activision has yet to explicitly confirm the delay by the looks of it, but it's hardly an unlikely scenario given how many multi-platform games are being delayed on PC nowadays over fears of piracy.

Speaking to a source within the PC-side of the games industry last month, bit-tech was told that although publishers often try to hide the piracy fears by talking of adding extra features the real cause is always piracy. Activision previously fell into controversy with fans when it announced the price of the enormously popular game would be upped higher than most other titles earlier this year.

Other possible reasons for the delay include a manufacturing problem, according to ElectronicTheatre, which would fit with the enormously late turn of events and lack of formal comment.

Naturally, we're contacting Activision for a comment and will let you know more when we do. In the mean time you can tell us what you think in the forums.
