The small Chile-based studio that goes by the name of ACE Team must have done well with their last game, Zeno Clash, as they've just announced plans to release a sequel to the first-person brawler in the future.

In an interview with us earlier this month, ACE Team's Andres Bordeu said that while the team would very much love to make a sequel to the original game, they were still waiting to see how well it sold and whether players would be interested in seeing more of the unusually styled indie game. As it turns out, it did sell well and the game has already gathered plenty of fans.

The announcement which went out earlier today claims that Zeno Clash 2 is definitely in development, if only in the early planning stages. The second game will be bigger and better, promises ACE Team, with a focus on larger and more explorable environments than the small arenas that were typical of the first game.

Other new additions to the game, which will probably again be based on Valve's Source Engine, will include some RPG elements that should provide some increased replayability for gamers. The first-person combat system will be getting a rework too, with the focus being on providing a more brutal and engaging style of gameplay.

On top of that, ACE also says that a new update for the game has just gone out today which should bring a number of small enhancements to the original game, such as health and time counters in Challenge Mode. The team is also hard at work on developing more free content for the game, so keep an eye out for that in the coming weeks.
