New Playboy MMO announced

Playboy will soon be entering the world of online games in a newly announced MMO based around the American magazine.

Playboy magazine is apparently readying to again enter the world of computer games after 2005's Playboy: The Mansion, this time as a newly announced MMO game.

Dubbed Playboy Manager, the latest game to be based on the magazine will be a massively multiplayer model management game where players have to endeavor to get their models labeled as Playmate, complete with a room in the mansion.

Anyone hoping for a, um, 'hardcore' gaming experience from Playboy Manager may be a little disappointed though as the title will apparently be a fairly casual thing according to developers. That means we can sleep with other games, right?

Jolt Online Gaming will be making the game free too, as well as completely browser-based, so will presumably be financing the game through adverts and/or microtransactions - though the official site, which is currently taking pre-registrations, doesn't hint which.

Interestingly, Playboy Manager looks to be an utterly turn-based type of game too, with gameplay involving a trading-card style system if early reports are to be believed. More interestingly, there'll be pictures of your models and their photoshoots too. So, yay for those of you who need to legitimize your adult surfing habits by wrapping it around a game.

Games based on sex and nudity have usually struggled to win players over with their gameplay or intelligence, but if you can think of any exceptions to that rule of thumb then let us know in the forums.

leisure suit larry 1 through 6 worked well (didnt play 7 much) cum laude was awful though

i personally will not be going anywhere near this thing regardless of reviews

In all seriousness, looks like an attempt to get people 'interested' back into paper magazines, for some odd reason.... Granted I get popsci and maximum PC mags... Heh :P

Maximum PC is a well put together magazine but the problem is I find the reviews dated even when I get the subscribed issue half a month early. While alot of their how-to guides (indeed the reason I get the magazine really) are amazing but I'm finding more and more I can google the web and find the same stuff. I have yet to check out their website in length though and since all back issues are in PDF and surely it requires a subscription to enter their website, I would possibly consider renewing for access to it all.

as long as its better then that playboy sims game where you were a manager, lol still interesting but it BETTER not have crappy graphics like WoW or else its going to be very disappointing, Im hoping for it to be like some of those other MMO that use the Unreal engine that look very detailed.

I dont know chances are there will be no nudity just very small articles of clothing lol just like the Playboy Sims game and even so Im sure some guy living in their parents basement will make a nude patch lol
