Capcom has made no changes to Resident Evil 5 even after allegations of racism and is very happy with the game.
Resident Evil 5 producer, Masachika Kawata, has said that despite allegations of racism in Capcom's latest game no changes have been made to
Resident Evil 5.
"
I don't recall modifying the game in any way after the controversy of racism," said Kawata-san in an interview with
Eurogamer recently.
The allegations first surfaced when Newsweek's N'Gai Croal mentioned the issue in an interview last year in which he commented on how apparently only black people were presented as enemies in the game.
"
It was a little bit of a surprise for us as obviously the game is set in Africa and so depicting native Africans was a natural thing to do," said Kawata-san in Capcom's defense, again insisting that this was a total non-issue and that it hadn't altered development of the survival horror title. In fact, the
Resident Evil 5 producer remarked on how quickly the row had faded from the public's memory.
"
One thing I remember is that after the introduction of the character Sheva, who is half-African, half-European, everything died down and we're quite happy with that," he said.
Resident Evil 5 is currently set for a release on the 13th of March for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, so we'll be able to check it out and form our own thoughts soon enough. Until then, let us know what you think in
the forums.

QFT, the whole thing was silly to start with, imagine someone would sue each time a game shows a white person in america / europe.
coz we know its not much big of a fuzz for a game, lol (filipino here and I dont mind being green :D )
"You can't move and shoot" - Has never played an RE game.
Seriously people, stop disliking a game for the reasons that make a game series what it is.
Reminds me of Vista

Topic: People would complain if it took place in South Africa because of its' rough history.
