Crysis Warhead will be released in the EU on the 12th of September.
Electronic Arts has finally announced the official release date for the upcoming standalone expansion to last year's
Crysis,
Crysis Warhead. The game is now slated for an early September release.
The game will launch first in Europe on September 12th, followed by a later release in America on the 16th - an unusual release pattern which Electronic Arts has apparently taken to with other PC exclusive games, such as
Spore which also shall launch in the EU before the US.
Details have finally out on the new multiplayer content too and EA has revealed that
Warhead will launch with a seperate compnent called
Crysis Wars.
Wars will include three new multiplayer modes which EA has described in the following press release excerpt.
"
Crysis Wars features three multiplayer modes, including TeamInstantAction, a new match type that mixes fast-paced action in a team-based environment, in addition to the insanely frenetic gameplay style of InstantAction and the hardcore team-based PowerStruggle, both of which return from Crysis.
The game will include 21 maps, six new maps for TeamInstantAction and InstantAction, and one for PowerStruggle and Crytek will also have a support team dedicated to meeting the needs of the Crysis Wars community."
The singleplayer side of
Warhead has also had some attention though, with the engine getting new tweaks and optimizations and the plot taking place in a story that runs paralleling to that of the original game.

thats 4 days after my birthday :D
I'll actually probably wait for a price drop if it's not totally worth it, but I will probably buy it eventually.
a long summer with not much of anything good to play but the fall and winter look great for good games.
Thank you Germany!
all goods are coming soon. The 4870X2 Must DROP PRICE before all this games are out. ;)
same predicament over here except that stalker is more like my main course while crysis is gonna be one sweet desert.
If they manage to drop the specs, the will raise the sales.
"IF" they make a good game. Not the case on Crysis, cuz that was "pants" as CadJoe use to say...
The game comes into its own on high and ultra high settings, the games graphical detail really makes the jungle something special to play in and due to the open and vast playing field in each level you can attack the objective in many different ways and the suits abilitys add this in depth level of gameplay.
I for one am currently re-playing the game and i can't get enough of it.
Say i get my ass owned to me by going for the objective one-way, i will replay it and take a different path or use a different approach and see how it pays off, this gives the game so much re-playability especially in the early levels.
Ehhh? Why?
I mean, I still prefer worldwide release, but it's nice to be on the other side of the fence, for once...
