New Lara Croft unveiled

Alison Carroll is the new face of Lara Croft and will promote the new Tomb Raider: Underworld game.

As we get closer and closer to the release of the new Tomb Raider game, subtitled as Tomb Raider: Underworld, the Eidos press machine is starting to whizz up into fifth gear, starting with the appointment of a new Lara Croft model.

The new Lara is the ninth Eidos-endorsed beauty and is taking over the responsibility of filling those tight, tan coloured hotpants from the popular Karima Adebibe.

Alison Carroll, 23, is a professional gymnast from Croydon who has previously performed for the likes of Prince Charles. Alison managed to beat out hundreds of other applicants for the chance to play the new face of Lara Croft, with the final round of the auditions involving a naked mud wrestling competition...or so we imagine.

The chance to take over the role of Lara Croft from Karima Adebibe has allowed Alison to quit her previous job as a receptionist and focus on getting into shape for her future stint as the face of Lara, according to an Eidos press release.

Eidos has traditionally appointed a new model for each major Tomb Raider, with the exception of Chronicles and Anniversary most notably. Previous models have included the likes of Nell McAndrew and Rhona Mitra.

For more details of what you can expect in the new game, check out our Tomb Raider: Underworld preview.

So, what do you think to the new Lara? As good as the old? Check out the pictures of the Old and New Lara Croft and let us know your thoughts in the forums.

Out of all of the Tomb Raider models, Nell McAndrew is still my favorite.

prefer karima myself. softer features.

oh, and is that the skankiest scab on carrolls left knee?!

yummy!
Quote M4RTIN 12th August 2008, 13:11
why do they even bother? i'd rather the games were really good than aiming the market at 14yr old boys who only care what the pretend computer woman looks like
Quote Yemerich 12th August 2008, 13:14
i think it is really stupid to make such votings...

Both are beautifull (Karima is more), but neither looks like lara.
Besides, whats the point? The winner goes arround the world finding lost artfacts?
Quote TreeDude 12th August 2008, 13:29
Both are pretty hot. I could care less. I would rather Eidos focus on making a decent game...
Quote liratheal 12th August 2008, 13:32
Karima for me, I'm afraid.

Alison is.. flexible, though. Scarily so.

Doing just a lil' more wouldn't be bad either :P
Anyways, they're both great.

All I can say is that who-ever does the publicity for Eidos needs to get shot. May be NSFW in extremely conservative regions.

I think someone needs a copy of photoshop and some airbrushing classes :D
Quote ParaHelix.org 12th August 2008, 13:44
I think the problem is that everyone will see them as "trying to look like Laura Croft", it's like Queen without Freddy Mercury, it can’t be done without the great original, Angelina Jolie.
Quote ParaHelix.org 12th August 2008, 13:46
It also looks like they just came from a fancy dress party, it dosn't work for them, sorry.

I've never played a decent Tomb Raider game... So I gave up hope on that about twelve years ago.
Quote Redbeaver 12th August 2008, 14:16
Karima.

but if either shows up at my door, ill die happy.
Quote Redbeaver 12th August 2008, 14:16
and yes, of course. thx to the movie, the best is still Angelina Jolie.
Quote Bionic-Blob 12th August 2008, 14:17
he didn't say it had to be tomb raider ;)

I really hope you meant "I could care less", and not actually "I couldn't care less". There's an entire thread about how we all hate people who say that....

On topic, I think she's rather lovely actually, and she can do all the suitable flips.
Quote Stuey 12th August 2008, 14:56
I like the boots. That's about it.

As for the NSFW photo... I don't see what's wrong with it. She's not exposed anymore than if she was wearing a bikini, and it only looks like she's not tanned there, that's all.

Talking about decent games, don't Eidos have more important things to do rather than taking girlie photos? Like finishing Deus Ex 3.

Apparently (BBC says so) GTA4 is the new Tomb Raiders biggest contender.

I swear all they need to do is get someone one any fair minded forum on the internet and instantly they wouldn't make idiots out of themselves every day when talking about anything technological.

Don't knock the BBC, the video they had of this babe was great :D

She's not bad looking, an' all, but the problem is going to come when you meet her, she opens her mouth to say hello and the whole world collapses around that quaint Croydon accent :p

My bad. I try and use correct grammar. But English was always one of those subjects I squeaked by in. I'm a math/science kind of guy.

Why is everyone complaining? As if you've got something better...

As for me... I wouldn't mind having all the Lara Craft's, including the ones in that Chinese or was it Japanese competition loaded with Lara Croft look-a-likes. *drools*

Note: I'm obviously talking about the real women, just so those that only think pixel-wise understand.

Quote Xir 13th August 2008, 06:42
Angelina Jolie...

Oooh, flexible though, isn't she?

(Gotta get back to work)
Quote PhenomRed 13th August 2008, 07:51
Rhona please

and Joe, you nearly had me on google with that remark about the nude mud wrestling...
Quote Jack_Pepsi 13th August 2008, 09:34
That picture doesn't do her justice.
Quote Redbeaver 13th August 2008, 13:35
ok, ive been looking at some of these pics again (including the linkies above), and this girl could use a couple pounds shaved off... she's pretty and hot and wutever, but look at those arms... and the thighs in the linkie... compared to Karima (or Jolie), and Lara Croft in-game herself (whichever game), no matter how u look at it...
Quote newsfeeder 13th August 2008, 15:43
If you take a look at these pics

Alison Carroll the new Lara Croft is way more sexy than Angelina Jolie...

She is Younger, flexible, bustier, sexier than Angelina...

Only too bad she does not have the sexy lips Angelina has.. That could make her perfect!

I don't know about you, but I find a girl having a little more to love (and other imperfections, like the scar on her knee) is hot.
