Braid might end up on the PlayStation 3 eventually, but a WiiWare version is apparently out of the question.
Jonathan Blow, the developer behind Braid
, has said that the adorable platform puzzler could conceiveably move to the PlayStation 3 in the future, though not to the Wii. A PC version is confirmed to be on the cards, but Blow has not yet dated the PC version.
is currently the favourite game in the office, combining old-school platform gameplay with some time-bending puzzles of mind-breaking proportions and an adorably twee presentation. The game is currently only available over Xbox Live Arcade and scored 10/10 and an excellence award in our official review
"I talked to some folks at Sony but they were not interested in carrying the game,
" Blow told Gamasutra
"Later on I talked to someone from a different division who *was* interested, but by then I had signed with Microsoft and started the XBLA port.
"It's a limited exclusive, so if I were to try to make a PS3 or WiiWare version of the game, I would have to wait a little bit,
" Blow concluded.
Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's probable though. Blow would only concede that a PlayStation 3 version might
happen, but flatly said no to a WiiWare adaptation of the game, though he wouldn't say why.
is currently priced at 1200 MS points and is well worth the cost if you're looking for a game to puzzle over with some chums. Tell us what you think about the game in the forums
