iD Gaming Academy Presents Camp Fatal1ty

Fatal1ty is ready to teach to teach you how to be Pro.
However, for those teens who shiver with the thought of outdoor activity, and would rather spend the summer fragging n00bs than paddling canoes, iD Gaming Academy has announced Camp Fatal1ty, a summer camp where you'll learn to play UT3 like a pro, with the help of noted professional gamer, Johnathan "Fatal1ty" Wendel.
"We are excited and honoured to partner with Johnathan on this new initiative. With this new collaborative offering, we continue to provide cutting-edge instruction to our teen gaming students. Professional gaming is a fast growing profession,” said Pete Ingram Cauchi, president and CEO of iD Tech Camps.
Over two weeks teens will be taught advanced strategies and tactics developed and used by pro gamers, as well as how to build highlight video reels to show off their newly acquired mad gaming skills. However, Fatal1ty won't be in attendance himself, and is only a consultant in designing the two week skill building program,with as yet unnamed pro gamers being brought in to teach
Such summer camps are commonplace in the US for mainstream sports, and many professional athletes have founded similar academies, but this is the first such camp we've heard of specialising in professional gaming skills. Could this be indicative of pro gaming becoming a more mainstream and acceptable past time, or is it another instance of unnecessary Fatal1ty branding? Either way, let us know in the forums!

I know that skill sometimes doesn't translate between games.
someone who is great at BF2 I/O might suck at COD4, and most other game to game comparisons also fit that rule.
Still... The most famous pro gamer in the world getting his ass owned and tea-bagged in BF2 is pretty damn funny.
The second I saw his picture I punch the picture and broke my CRT tube.

I'll never understand the Fatality hate.
I've seen Fatal1ty at QuakeCon. Watched first person as he absolutely destroyed 99% of the people he played in Quake4 DeathMatch. Even guys that were ranked on ladders and winning tournaments were getting obliterated. Plus, after all his PR stuff, he was down in the BYOC (Bring Your Own Computer) section walking around and checking out the custom computers. Some guy had a huge MAME video game console he had made and they were playing Mortal Kombat 1. Fatality was on a streak of 27-0 when I walked over to watch. He was still performing fatalities (imagine that lol) and special moves for every character. The guy is freakin good at what he does
If Zalman and ABIT and Creative came to you and said they wanted to make you a brand name, would you turn them down? Hell no! Plus, he's actually a nice guy and pretty cool to talk to.
I might not turn them down, but I'd make sure the products they make are good..

the only thing I would like to learn from a pro gamer is how to concentrate and stay focused and calm. As for the rest, I believe I have enough skills already to beat most of the people I play with (FPS games). I am not the best, but when I play over 90% of my capacity, I am satisfied :)
It's lame, cashing in on kids (I assume nobody over the age of 12 would go? :X (and the idiots that buy shoddy (average, not good enough, whatever) products with his name on)) who really should be doing something better at a camp than playing video games. Adventure stuff, real sport, sticking flutes in places, this is especially true of the little fat geeks who will probably go. Is there that much to teach them anyway? Aim, move, duck, jump, spend all your waking life playing and you too could be as awesome as Johnathan.
Yeah he maybe damn good at video games, lots of people are when they put in the practice (plus natural talent), he just appears to be more photographic than the usual geeks, big thick glasses, long/weird hair styles on head and face, weight issues, and don't anyone try and argue this isn't the case, attend a few big lans and look around lol, it's not a bad thing but it's harder to put their names and faces on stuff and sell it (I would imagine) :)
