Rockstar's Hosi Simon confirms that the Xbox 360 version of GTA IV will be more complete than the PS3 version.
There's a lot of confusion going on about the different versions of
Grand Theft Auto IV, with numerous parties telling numerous stories about the differences and/or similarities between the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 copies. Throughout it all though the game developer, Rockstar, has been tight-lipped and has tried it's best not to tip the balance by favouring Sony over Microsoft, or vice versa.
Those days of keeping schtum are now at an end.
In a recent interview over at
Games Radar, Rockstar's Hosi Simon has dropped the ball.
Though Hosi starts off assuring gamers that it doesn't matter which platform they play on, he soon makes it clear where the hardcore will find the
'complete experience';
"They're identical games. We're not hardware makers, and we're not like a pawn between these companies, we try not to be as much as we can. We make great games for people to enjoy on whichever system they want."
Wait for it...
"But I guess if you want the complete experience with the episodes, then yeah, you should buy the 360, I suppose."
Still, at least he keeps his cool and still sounds all casual as he breaks the news that PS3 gamers will be getting the short straw in the eyes of the game designers.
Will you be picking
GTA IV up for a console or will you be waiting for the inevitable PC port further down the line? Let us know - which you can do either through
the forums or the comments section.
Why he had to sugar coat it I don't know. One for in the eye for us PS3 owners :(
why didnt sony buy the episodes :'(

Thats why.
Anyway, i will be buying it for my 360, and i hope its gonna be as good as the previous GTA's
Sam
Now all the PS3 noobs shout: "He is paid to say that"
And all x360 noobs yell: "See the x360 is way ubernoob then ps3"
Put this on some kiddie invested console forum and all hell breaks loose.
But this is bit-tech so i would say that my pc would own them both...
:D
i want to see the differences between the ps3 and xbox360 version in terms of graphic quality.
The Darkness on PS3 shipped with Accomplishments (Sony's version of Achievements)...If 2k was smart enough to include it while it is not fully supported by the PSN I bet Rockstar will have them as well.
No, not more complete. Techincally, if it includes all the main game, then its complete. It will have more extras than the PS3 version.
Either way, I had enough problems with the 360 I had, so I don't want anything else to do with them.
Resistance : FOM and Rainbow Six: Vegas shipped with achievements too. Or something. But it's the same idea.
Regarding GTA, who cares? This may be relevant to the 0.1% of the gaming population that has both a X360 and a PS3. The rest of us will get whatever version there's available to our console. And I can't understand why this is such a big deal...yeah, us PS3 owners lose some extra content...so what? It's not like GTA games ship with 5 hours long gameplay. If it were an exclusive or timed exclusive for the X360, I could understand some people being pissed...but really, how many people are going to choose one platform or the other because of a couple of extra missions in a single game?
I refer Sam to GTA2, which sucked on any platform...
