Music is one of the most important parts of a gaming experience, but one which often goes without notice as players focus more on the graphical output of various games. Thankfully the last few years have seen a group of musicians and orchestras perform globally to help praise one of the more classically artistic aspects of a modern game; musical composition.

Video Games Live, for those not in the know, is a celebration of some of the best game music from the history of computer games. Touring worldwide, it is bulled as the 'number one video game touring concert in the world', not that there is a lot of competition in that category.

Still, the concert is widely acclaimed and has been a massive critical success for gamers and n00bs alike for it's interactive performance segments and the adaptation of game music to a classical performance format.

The concert, which has toured globally, is now seeing a mainstream release with a CD and DVD of it's performance in Rio de Janiero. Online trailers have been released to show just what the concert holds in store for music fans and fans will be able to order a copy of the DVD or CD from the website soon.

The concert, founded by Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall who have worked on titles such as Jade Empire and Earthworm Jim, features performances of music from games as varied as Tetris and God of War. There's even music from staff favourites, Beyond Good and Evil and some classic Lucasarts adventure games.
